Orientation and Welcome Events

Welcome to the Camosun community! Our orientation events are designed to make your transition to college smooth and successful, ensuring that every new student feels welcomed and valued.

General Orientation All students are welcome

In-Person New Student Orientation Session

In-person orientation sessions are the perfect option for those who prefer a hands-on experience. These sessions are optional but highly recommended and are open to all new students. They are usually held one week before Fall, Winter, and Summer intakes. During the in-person orientation, you will:

  • Get essential information about pre-arrival to-dos, student services, and campus life.
  • Engage in social activities to help you connect with peers.
  • Take a guided campus tour to familiarize yourself with the important locations and facilities.

  • August 26 - Lansdowne New Student Orientation (AM session)
  • August 27 - Interurban New Student Orientation (AM session)
  • August 27 - Interurban New Student Orientation (PM session)

Online Workshops

Online sessions are offered to explore specific topics, such as D2Lthe learning management platform used by Camosunand Library Services. They are usually held before classes start and during the first month of Fall, Winter, and Summer intakes. These online events provide flexibility and convenience, allowing you to participate from anywhere.

Additional Orientation

To further support our diverse student body, we offer specialized orientation sessions tailored to different groups of students. These sessions address unique needs and provide targeted information and resources.

International Student Orientation

International students are泭娶梗梁喝勳娶梗餃泭to attend all three泭New泭International Student Orientations.

Indigenous Student Orientation

Indigenous students can泭contact Ey Sqlewen The Centre for Indigenous Education & Community Connections to connect with an Indigenous Advisor to get oriented to Camosun.
